I am Dr. Nichelle Dionne

I’m a dedicated educator, advocate, and technologist with over 40 years of experience in Information Technology. My journey has been shaped by a profound passion for technology, an unwavering commitment to education, and a deeply personal connection to neurodivergence.

My Journey

My career began during 1984 in high school when I wrote my first line of code, sparking a lifelong fascination with technology’s power to transform lives. At a time when computers were just beginning to shape the world, I embarked on a journey that would see me build a diverse portfolio spanning IT consulting, cybersecurity, training, and, more recently, thought leadership in security awareness. Over the decades, whether pioneering research in Wi‑Fi security or navigating other challenges, every step has deepened my commitment to safeguarding digital information.

After high school, I enlisted in the United States Army Reserve as an E-3, inspired by my active involvement in JROTC. I went on to receive an SROTC scholarship, and while pursuing my Bachelor’s in Computer Science, I received my commission as an Army officer. During that period, I balanced full-time work—as a Systems Analyst secured during a summer internship—and full-time studies. This demanding time instilled in me discipline, leadership, and a strong commitment to service.

I became a teenage mom during high school, a challenge I met with resilience and the invaluable support of my “village.” This experience set the stage for my continued academic and professional growth, leading me to later earn a Master’s in Training and Development and a Doctorate in Management Information Systems (MIS).

In my mid-50s, a diagnosis of ADHD Combination proved to be as illuminating as it was empowering. This new understanding inspired me to blend my deep technological expertise with innovative strategies that embrace neurodivergence, ultimately reshaping my professional focus.

My thought leadership is built on 40 years of experience in technology and a deep commitment to assisting neurodivergent individuals. By leveraging decades of expertise, I provide innovative insights and practical strategies that not only enhance digital security but also empower those who think differently to thrive in today’s dynamic tech landscape.

My Mission

I am passionate about bridging the gap between technology expertise and neurodivergence strategies for success. Through my work, I aim to:

Educate by Equipping students, professionals, and educators with the skills and knowledge to thrive in the ever-evolving field of technology.
Advocate by Providing resources and tools to help neurodivergent individuals succeed, both personally and professionally.

What I Do

As an Educator, I teach Information Technology courses at the higher education level, mentor students, and develop innovative curricula that prepare learners for the future of tech. My curriculum development work ensures that academic programs are aligned with industry demands and incorporate the latest technological advancements.
As an Advocate, I share strategies to help neurodivergent individuals and their support systems navigate education, career development, and daily life.

Thought Leader, Through public speaking, workshops, and my writing, I raise awareness about the intersection of technology and neurodivergence, while offering actionable insights drawn from my 40+ years in IT and Education.

I am proud to be the co-founder of Generation2Generation Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging generational gaps through knowledge sharing in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Our mission is to empower individuals—especially those from underrepresented communities—with the tools, resources, and opportunities to succeed in technology-driven careers.
